“锡锭(英文版)”介绍
Tin Ingots, commonly referred to in English as "tin," is a metal that has been valued highly since ancient times for its unique properties. This malleable and ductile material is silvery-white in appearance and possesses an exceptionally low melting point compared to other metals, making it relatively easy to shape through casting or soldering. Tin's chemical symbol is Sn, originating from its Latin name "stannum."
In the global market, tin ingots are a crucial commodity. They find extensive applications in various industries due to their corrosion resistance and ability to form strong chemical bonds with other elements like copper and silver, thereby producing bronze and silver solders respectively. Tin's excellent non-toxic characteristics make it particularly suitable for food packaging, as well as a protective coating for steel to prevent rust formation.
The production of tin ingots involves refining processes that extract the metal from its ore, primarily cassiterite. The refined product is then poured into molds, resulting in standardized bars of solid tin. These tin ingots are traded internationally and have a considerable economic impact on countries where tin mining is a significant industry, such as Indonesia, Peru, and China.
